About

Hi, I’m Sue, and welcome to The Mercerie.

The Mercerie was launched in 2012 in my kitchen somewhere near Norwich, Norfolk and I have a straightforward mission; to design beautiful products – for the community that loves to make.
My background is in knitwear design and arts education and my passion is creating beautiful, functional products that can be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

All my designs are available as knitting and crochet kits, or you can download the patterns and choose your own colourways from my collection of beautiful British aran, or supersoft merino; all sourced from a mill in Yorkshire.

I like to keep packaging to a minimum (I don’t like a lot of fuss) and aim to use recyclable materials as much as possible. The smaller kits are packaged in card boxes, screen printed by hand, and the larger kits come in cotton tote bags.

The Mercerie’s collection is evolving all the time and includes knitting and crochet designs for beginners, dabblers and the already brilliant.

Thanks for visiting – and I hope you find something you like.
