Working with Colour: A Two Part Master Class

Part One

Do you tend to ‘play safe’ with colours you are familiar with, or do you avoid certain colours because of your personal associations with them? This 2 part masterclass will guide you through the theory, and the rules, of colour.

We’ll help you break the rules successfully and show you how to create stunning colour combinations for your textile work – and any other area of your life that needs a colour overhaul!

This is very much a ‘hands on’ workshop and is suitable for anyone and everyone who has ever wanted to learn more about how to work with colour.

In part one we will look closely at the colour wheel, understanding the terminology of colour and the relationships between hues. We will be mixing and painting colours and you will begin creating your own colour reference tools. You will gain insights into the psychology and symbolisms surrounding colour and understand why, and how, certain colour combinations ‘work’ and others don’t.

Part Two will be held on June 17th
