“As a family, we would like to extend our sincere thanks for the kindness, support, and compassion you have shown us following the loss of our much-loved Sue.
Sue’s funeral on 9th April was a fitting celebration of her life. It meant a great deal to see so many family members, friends, customers, and colleagues come together, reflecting the many lives she touched. Your messages, cards, flowers, and shared memories have provided great comfort during an incredibly difficult time.
We are also deeply grateful for your generosity. Together, you have raised over £2300 for CJD research through Sue’s JustGiving page. This contribution will support vital work into this devastating disease, and it is a source of comfort to know that Sue’s legacy may help bring hope to other families.
Hearing your stories and memories of Sue has been particularly meaningful. They are a powerful reminder of her kindness, creativity, and generosity, and of the special community she built through The Mercerie.
While Sue is no longer with us, her passion for creativity, learning, and bringing people together continues; Jess, together with Sue’s family, remain committed to running The Mercerie with the same warmth and care that Sue established, ensuring her legacy endures.
In Sue’s memory, we will continue to support CJD research through future fundraising events/activities within The Mercerie and we hope you will continue to be part of this journey as we honour Sue in a way that reflects the values she held so dearly.
