Dressmaking Workshops Coming Soon!

We are very excited at The Mercerie to be preparing for a series of dressmaking workshops in Norwich this autumn. We can help you make those wardrobe classics such as A Line or straight skirts. Or perhaps you’d like to make your own circle skirt, complete with net petticoat, or a 50’s dirndl for that authentic vintage look.

Whether you want to sew for your children, or add to your own wardrobe, we can show you how to achieve a professional finish, and give you the confidence to make it yourself.

All the dressmaking workshops will be taught by professionals with many years experience in design, pattern cutting and manufacture and they will be held in a specialist sewing studio at City College, Norwich.

Provisional details are;

• Saturday 29th September. 10am – 4pm. Straight and A Line Skirts (adult sizes)

How to make those essential wardrobe staples.

• Saturday 20th October 10am – 4pm. Simple Dresses for Little Girls

Easy to wear styles for little girls aged aprox 2-8 years. It couldn’t be easier!

• Saturday 10th November 10am – 4pm.  Vintage Fashions: Dirndls and Full Circles (adult sizes)

Create that authentic vintage look in a day.

Workshop prices are:

1 workshop: £40

Any 2 workshops: £70

All 3 workshops:  £100
